Hi everyone! I just picked up a running and driving 75 Dart! Im headed overseas for a few years, but the plan is to work on it with my little brother any time I'm home, and he can drive it occasionally while I'm gone. I'm an F-35 mechanic by trade, a really amateur mechanic by hobby, and my brother doesn't have a mechanical bone in his body (but we'll get there!).

I do have a question to start things off. The suspension is pretty tired, to the point that the previous owner pinched the headers almost shut by hitting curbs and bumps. I've already purchased a steering rebuild kit. The rear leaf springs are giving me trouble when it comes to sourcing them. I can't wait on ESPO (if they're still in stock), and I do NOT want lowering springs, which it seems are all that's available on any site I can find (The 1" drop geometry correction ones). Can anyone point me to some 6 leaf springs that are stock height and will ship relatively soon? I did find some on EatonDetroit but they're pretty dang pricey (and the only option is for a 360, I don't know if there's any difference in the springs).

As far as power goes, The 318 already has a 4 barrel carb and headers, so the plan is just to put a better intake on it, and eventually a cam. I'll be following in the footsteps of the "3-8 Teen Dream" article from HotRod.

So, there are quite a few articles here on Headers. The wrong type of Headers will almost always hit. The cheaper ones hang too low, so it may not be your suspension. You want to pick up a Service Manuel for the Dart. There is a wealth of info. in one. Might be able to get one on eBay. I would wait on Espo and get a +1 set if I were you.

Welcome to the Mopar family! It's awesome you'll be able to pick away at a '75 Dart project with your brother while you're home. Having a solid running and driving foundation is half the battle, and it sounds like you've got a fantastic plan for the build.

For your rear leaf spring issue, you're right that many vendors focus on lowering springs or have long lead times.
