Good morning, im putting together a 71 340 and have the 18" fan 2863216 and would like a OEM style clutch for it, can someone recommend a clutch for my fan. I like Tonys repro clutch 070 but dont want to spend that kind of money.
Can i get one from Napa or Rockauto ? part number? it has to be non-thermal and "heavy duty". Any help is of course appreciated..Rich

im using my stock 340 22" radiator... im assuming the height i need is whatever the factory clutch was, im trying to keep it as simple as i can

Agree with post #2, non-thermal are not considered HD. There is no reason not to use a thermal clutch.

would you recommend the Hayden 2947 ?
im useing a flowkooler water pump and an expensive recored 22" mopar HD radiator.
The 340 isnt installed yet so im not sure of how much room i will have but from reading all the posts here and there the Hayden 2947 seems to be the go to fan clutch especially with the thicker cored radiators, any insight you guys may have will be appreciated...Rich

What year car? Early As have less room than later As.
What style water pump? '70 and later (P.S. inlet) are deeper than the '69 and earlier (D.S. inlet).
Need to know, it all adds up.

I have 2947's on 3 of my cars. It is difficult to get the 4 bolts in. After you play with it you will get the hang of it. I use bolts , not studs.
