Fan shroud

Can a fan shroud from a 74 be used on a 72? They have different parts #'s. Mine is warped and one of the mounting tabs is torn.

No part number shows that it's for a 22-in radiator which is what I have. I looked up both part numbers and one shows for V8 cars with or without AC and the other shows for the 225 slant 6

Even if they're both for a 22" radiator, the slant 6 shroud offsets the fan opening to the opposite side of the radiator than the one for the V8.
In other words, the V8 shroud offsets the fan opening towards the passenger side, the slant 6 opening is offset towards the driver's side. In some cases the slant 6 shroud can be turned upside down and used in a V8 application, but I'm sure there's exceptions to that too. As well as some potential radiator inlet/outlet interference issues, which may require trimming the shroud.

That makes sense. Maybe I'll just get a plastic welder to fix the tab and use a heat gun to get the warp out.
