Once when camping, it started to pour and filled our tent. In my '68 cuda we put the seat down and the trunk divider, then slept in our sleeping bags.

I had a 69 Barracuda FB back in 69. I used to fold down the back seat all the time. But this is a family site, so I won't go into any more details.
