Looking for input - I pulled out all the cargo area panels in my '69 fastback cuda to add insulation and new carpet. Reinstalled the side pillar lamps and they worked properly, but next morning I discovered the lights were on (doors closed, light switch in proper position). I was really glad the bulbs are LED so didn't cause heat damage. I swapped in another headlight switch, no change - the yellow wires at both sockets stay hot with doors closed. I'm thinking I must have accidentally grounded the yellow wire somehow in putting it all back together, or is there some other explanation? Appreciate your thoughts!

There is power to the interior lights all the time. They turn on when the door switch grounds the other wire.

I bet you have something in the socket touching ground.

Thanks for the quick reply. The lights stay on even when pulled out and away from any contact with the panels. So maybe a ground further behind the panel?

Thanks, will try that when I get some free time
