Fastest way to strip paint

Paint stripper use to work, until they took all of the good toxic shat out of it ! I think it was a $100cdn for a US gallon can the last time I bought it 5 or more years ago. Auto Chem paint stripper..

I watch a You Tube channel called Paint Society. Brian has used Aircraft Stripper Ultra a few times on his channel and it has worked just like the old stuff. The main difference is he covers it with painters plastic while it is working. He literally scraped the paint off of a hood with a bondo spreader, right into the trash can. I'm going to try it when I get back into body work mode.

I stripped my Duster using a sharp inch and a half wide chisel. The paint was so brittle it came off in tiny little pieces as fast as I could push the chisel.

I have done that on old lacquer paint a few times.

I usually used paint stripper and then followed up with 80 grit on a DA. Although I admit the paint stripper isn't as good as when I stripped my Barracuda about 14 years ago. I had good help!

You can just use a DA. Start with 60 grit until most of the paint is gone and then switch to 80. It is messy and you will go through a lot of sanding disks, but it does work. WEAR A MASK!

That's how I use paint stripper when I do. Lather it on per instructions and cover it with plastic. I've left it overnight to come in next day and scrape it off with a bondo spreader. Anything left behind comes off easily with 80 grit on a DA.
