How’s it going guys, I recently purchased a FBO lockout for my distributor. I installed the plate along with new springs included with the kit, and timing is all in at 34*. When I take the car for a ride everything is fine, all of a sudden it pings like crazy, stuck at like 30*. I pulled it and the weights were stuck open, pulled it apart and everything looked fine. I put it back together tested it again and it stuck again, same thing weights stuck. What could be causing this? Everything I have read about these plates say they don’t stick timing but I am having that problem. If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be appreciated.

Motor is a 340 if needed and I believe a mopar performance distributor

Thank you
Joe

I've had many issues with those distributers. They are bushed instead of ball bearing, the advance curve is way too fast for most street cars. I hate to say throw parts at it but i'd be looking into an easy to adjust ball bearing type. FBO sells bigger bushings for the MSD billet, which I am a big fan of.
