Decoding the Tag
Section Codes from Tag Description
Production Row 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0 (top row letters) The numbers beneath this row are plant-specific internal sequencing, routing, or inspection marks and do not decode into specific options.
Alphabet Row A B C D E F G H J K L M N P Q R S T V W X Y Z (middle row letters) Numbers under these letters indicate specific features or options. Some known codes from a general list for this era include:
3 under C Likely related to the car's engine (e.g., specific slant-six) or safety group.
1 under D Indicates a 3-speed manual transmission.
5 under F Could be for a lower body finish panel/applique.
1 under M Could indicate power door locks or a roof rack.
1 under T Likely indicates a tachometer option.
1 under V Likely indicates back up lights.
Bottom Row SO NUMBER (Shipping Order) 10310 indicates a build date around October 31st (1=Jan, A=Oct, etc.). The following digits are a sequential order number.
BDY (Body) 6247 identifies the body style. 6 is for a 2-door sedan (Y=1), and the rest is specific to the Dodge Dart 170 model.
TRM (Trim) 711 indicates the interior trim grade and color, such as vinyl bench seats and a specific color.
PNT (Paint) 305 indicates the exterior paint color, likely a medium blue metallic or similar shade (color codes can vary between years and plants).
NNP (Paint Style) NNP likely refers to the paint style (mono, two-tone, etc.) and upper door frame color, typically a monochrome paint job in the body color.

All the info I could find

This car was built on the same day as yours. Post 10 has some of your codes decoded.

Thanks for finding that. Similar options as mine, but his is a GT, mine is a 170.

What I was really looking for was seeing which transmission it left the factory with. When I bought it it had a Torqueflight with pushbuttons. However the brake pedal was from a manual transmission car, and when I looked under the dash I could see that someone sawed the clutch pedal off! Not sure if the car had a manual trans swap at some point, or if they just changed the pedal assembly. In any case I found a proper pedal assembly and it will have a proper auto trans brake pedal going forward.

I assume that if it was a manual the trans tunnel would have a hump in it on the driver's side for the shifter..

Also your tag says A-3 which the post says is automatic

Good point. This does not have a cutout and hump for a manual. Someone apparently just swapped the pedal assembly for some reason.
