Fender Tag Help
I still have three codes on my tag that I'm not sure about. They are; F1 in the second row, 89 in the third row, and 13 in the bottom row. I suspect F1 and 89 could be the AM/FM radio or shoulder belts. The 13 may just indicate 13" wheels. Thanks.

A broadcast sheet, if you have one, would help

LH23 = Dodge Dart 2-Dr Hardtop
21 = 225cid Slant Six
5 (395) = Torqueflite Automatic
13 = tires 7.00 x 13 WSW
502 scheduled production date = May 2 1968
ax-1 = (401) 2.76 Axle Ratio
TRM-H4X = High Trim Grade, Vinyl Split Bench Seats. Black Interior
PNT-JJ1 = JJ = Medium Gold Metallic, 1=Monotone
U-B = Black Inner Door Frame Color

MOLDING CODE
14: 544 Sill Mouldings
25: 535 Drip Rail Mouldings
78: 548 Wheel Lip Mouldings
8(0?): 540 belt molding?

ABC OPTIONS:

I am no expert at decoding fender tags, but on your very original (other than the wheels) looking car I see bumperettes which are not mentioned in the above post. Perhaps they are the 89?

except bumper guards are code - front-481, rear-482, both-483. None end in 9 or 0 or whatever that number is as I can read it real well...

Thanks Rocky and Dave. I looked into the code for belt moldings, it is 30. 89 could be the bumper guards. F0 comes up as Decor Package on some decoders, so maybe F1 refers to some option package.

As far as I know the 1-8 fender tag codes are molding codes
G and F are for accessory groups/ package, lines 35 and 36 on IBM card.

529 - Wide sill molding
535 - drip rail
Body side Belt molding is code 540 on 1968 Dart, as stated above
541 - Licence plate frame
542 - door edge guards
543 - door upper
544 - sill molding
545 - body side molding
546 -
547 - B pillar molding
548 - wheel lip molding
549 -
649 Delete moldings is on 68 broadcast sheet - this could be what 8-9 is as it is a pretty rare coding from what I can find. If this is a dart 270 it would have come with body side moldings with 270 on rear trim piece. Code 649 c/would delete this molding and it is not seen on your car. If you have the broadcast sheet under rear seat bottom normally but not always. If you look at the molding codes IF 649 has a 9 in the box it is a delete molding code.

Bumper guards would be a 1-2 or 3 ending code for codes 481-2 or 3 as stated above.

These codes are from 1968 broadcast sheet and 1968 ordering codes for 68 Dart and 67 IBM card (I don't have a 68 IBM card to compare to) direct from Chrysler Corp not a decoder.

Thanks Rocky and Dave. I looked into the code for belt moldings, it is 30. 89 could be the bumper guards. F0 comes up as Decor Package on some decoders, so maybe F1 refers to some option package.

Thanks again. I'm going to look for my build sheet this weekend. I'll let you know what I find out. That's a 9 under the 8.

Here's a nice pic I took tonight.

I found two build sheets. One under the back seat and one taped behind the glovebox. I left the one under the seat for the next guy. The F1 is a special package and the 89 is the side molding delete.
