OK I'm running in to an issue with the tti headers I bought. And I'm thinking about going back to fender well headers. Are there any performance gains to use one or the other?

What kind of issues are you having with the tti ones? Not sure about your second question, i have only used the tti headers on my dart. But i am interested in hearing if there is a performance gain with the fender well headers. Mopar65

The mounts that I have were fabricated when I had fender well headers. now the engine sits about 1.5 inches too low and hits the center link. I really don't want to cut them off and start over . I bought some Charger 440 mounts that have the rubber insulator that would give the me the raise, now I'm in the process of making modifications to them and hopefully they will work.

I think the question should be which header is right for your build.

I run tti 2 inch headers on my 74 duster 512 ci pump gas street car tthat runs 10.30's
These headers give me great street manners meaning that the turning radius is just like stock, ground clearance is good.

On my race car that has run a best of 8.90's I run Hooker Super Comp fenderwell's.
Ease of plug changing, starter removal, engine removal.
But lousy ground clearance, steering is marginal and ground clearance is greatly reduced.
Mufflers hang low to the ground.

hope this is usefull.

X2. I have both styles myself. The only reason I gave up the extra funds for the tti's on one of
my fastbacks is to keep the car more street friendly.solid lifter six pack engine.
I have the fenderwell headers on a dart that is better suited for straight line with the max wedge size ports and cross ram.
I doubt their is much of a performance gain in my cars from one header to the other because they are not built up to be as competitive as womanators car. I only use mine on the street where the fenderwells are a little extreme in my opinion. I don't care for the shorter tire size I have to use with them is my only complaint. I don't run mufflers on the fenderwells. Like I said extreme for the street. But that's how I want it to be.
