fiberglass hood

So I bought a brand new fiberglass hood for my 68 dart for 100 bucks. The problem is I can not find the springs. I called up22 and they said summit. They don't have them either. Does anyone know where I can get them ? The only other option is to use a prop but that looks tacky. ( maybe If I owned a Chevy I would do it )

You are going to have to remove the fenders to access the clips that hold them on.

I did all that, and also took the one end off. I just don't know how to do the rest or how to put the new ones one because of the tension.

hi everyone. I just did this on my 68 Dart with the fiberglass hood. I got a used set from a wrecker and heated the spring until it began to expand.As soon as I saw it begin to expand I stopped the heating process. I checked the tension by feel and if needed reheat. Be careful not to overheat the spring. The heating process doesn't take long so keep your eyes on task. The clips are available at any auto parts store.
