Our hoods have dobes of something between the frame & skin. Is this just seam sealer?

It's a kind of putty, called "dum dum". I found sticks of plumbers putty online that do the job. Just roll up a ball, squish it flat, and tuck it in there. I did this because a lot of my old putty had come loose and the skin was nicely vibrating.

Uhhh...
"Dum-Dum" is absolutely not an official term for Seam Sealer.

It is a seam sealer to stop rattles. I use panel glue. Get it at your local body supply store . Anything else will not adhere and get soft from engine heat . Had some cars come here with a mess of who knows what all over the engine. Do a test and put a dab on something and let it harden. See if it softens or melts with heat.

Thanks for the added info, I have some Eastwood seam sealer in the mail, it just can't get here quick enough.
