well I was going to have my local machine shop cut .040 of my 440-1 heads but I cc’d a chamber before I took them out and here they were already cut before I bought them. .040 takes them from 78 to a 65cc chamber and that’s right where I wanted them. I asked my machinist if he would run them like that with an oring or but one in and file it. Here he had some that he bought 10 years ago and said to take it an use what I needed. My two 360 cranks are done so I jumped on this tonight so I can take it back to him tomorrow. This turned out easily than I thought.

Sorry. Could not make out the writing on the container. Now that you say stainless, I can clearly see that is what basically was written on it. Carry on.

Do you have a receiver groove in the block.

What head gasket are you planning on running?
What’s the bore diameter of said gasket?
What’s the ID of the O-Ring?
I’m just curious as to where the gaskets fire ring will land.

As always, I enjoy your posts. Best of luck on your project!

Honestly right now I only sent these out to give my local machine shop some work. If my son would help I already have the powerglide built for it and he could be raciog it. But he lost interest in shop work. It will be getting a 505 assembly that’s already balanced ready to go, and an 1150 on alcohol that’s being built right now. It will be a nice 8 second car. It’s .030 over 440 bore and I would order Cometic Gaskets for it
