filter plate help

I have a drop plate for my CARTER carb but it wont fit on my holley carb does anyone know why it wont? or if i need to buy a different one?

What part of the Holley is hitting? The throttle linkage? Some Holleys need a spacer in between the carb and the filter base plate. If so there different types of filter base plates to address the issue. Some of the base plates have a drop that allows hood clearance, some are flat with no need for hood clearance, some have "notches" for the throttle linkage to clear and they have to be lined of correctly over the throttle linkage.

mines hitting the 2 screws on the carb one on each side of the carb

You could get an air cleaner adapter. NAPA sells them.

nice but how do i know what size the one is that i need? Its a holley 750vac carb

Get a tape measure and measure your carb then measure your air cleaner. They both should be the same and look up the size you need on the link that 6pk2goDemon posted. I know they make them because I have one on my car.
