Finally checked my fender tag

Here's what came up. It's a fastback. How could I have upper door fram color? I am thinking this fender tag doesn't go with my car. The VIN is definitely a 68 340. What are the body belt moldings? From what I could tell and the original color on the inner fenders my car was Turbine Bronze 340 S. It still has power brakes but was the power steering stock? Do these come with a master cylinder with a 7/16" bolt holding down the cover like mine? I haven't seen any pictures with a master cylinder with this cover. September 26th seems like a pretty early build date for a 68 formula S. Is it? I still have a red line spare. I only have a 120 mph speedo and no woodgrain is this correct for a deluxe interior?

I have a 67 but I think the same holds true for the 68, so here is my best shot at your questions:

How could I have upper door frame color?
Bronze car with a black interior, the metal of the doors was painted black.
I am thinking this fender tag doesn't go with my car. The VIN is definitely a 68 340.
There should be a 10 digit number stamped on the trunk lip, driver's side, look under the weatherstrip. The first 2 digits are the year, then the plant the car was made in:
8 = 1968
2 = Hamtramck Assy-Detroit (if it is a 2)
Then next 8 digits will match the last 8 digits on your fender tag.
The first 3 of the 8 will be the build date:
926
The next 5 of the 8 will be the shipping order numbers.
So the 10 digits s/b:
82926xxxxx

I don't think so, wouldn't that mean 9/26/67 for a 68 car?

Not sure on the woodgrain, but things get changed and replaced over 40 years. The speedo could be either a 120 or 150, so it could be correct as well.
