The Boss, aka my loving wife, got a helmet....going to take her out on the chopper tomorrow when I get back from going to town....

Helmet laws suck....no helmets here in Okieland. There's nothing in our heads to get hurt! :banghead: :violent1:

Helmet saved my Life when I was 17. 50 mph loose gravel and curve 20ft drop off don't mix. Tried to get it away from me but stuff happens fast. Face went through instruments face sheld broke still have funny place under left eye that does not tan like rest of face. Also took a chunk out of the helmet on something probably a rock. Woke up pushed bike home crawled in bed. Could not get up next day dad took me to the doc to say he was pissed would be understatement. Had the deepest bruises with no broken bones the doc had seen. Bruised my bones ouch!!! Glad I had on my leather stuff!
Be SAFE and watch out for the four wheel people that don't see us.
Little long winded sorry

No need to apologize. Zombie cage drivers...gotta love em. Trying to figure out where to take her. I have never had a passenger on this thing....and she has not been on the back of a bike since 05 or so. She is one of the best passengers I have ever had. Very relaxed, not the least bit spooked by being back there....

Relaxed, huh? Some years ago my wife and I were on my KZ1000E heading down to a little B&B east of San Diego for the weekend. While riding along I had a couple of cars pull up alongside and pace me for a mile or so before pulling away. I glanced over at one of them and noticed the passenger was taking a picture - not of the bike or both of us, but only of my wife who was asleep on the back of the bike.
Now, that's relaxed!

Ernie used to sleep on the back of my GSXR1000.....on one of our trips thru the Salt River Canyon, one of my favorite twisty roads she slept thru some of the corners....

We were going up the Beeline highway towards Payson one day. Bit of traffic but it was spaced out....cruising along in sixth gear and she tapped my thigh and pointed at the go fast grip....twisting her wrist....down into second and turned it up....hit 155mph with her on the back. Went thru one of the sweepers at 145.....when we stopped up the road she asked me if that was all it had....

My transmission buddy in AZ is in deep sh*t with her. He promised her a ride in a very well built, long travel pre runner but we were pushed for time and it never happened....

That was fun. Ernie had a great time on the back of the bike today. Took the little loop down Devils Gap Road...it is a road that runs thru a lot of farming fields.....was pretty effin windy....

Really thinking the Dart is going to be pushed back some more.....may look for a different frame for my 110" V-Twin/6 speed gear box. That wide rear radial and skinny belted front makes things interesting....not that riding a near 9' long chopper is not enough already.....and I love riding so......

Gotta love a woman like that.

I've had 'em in the cars with me and just a few go fast maneuvers brought the butthole factor up to 11 for 'em.

Gotta say that Ernie's got Judy beat on the "relaxed". Judy would've been pounding on me to slow down well before those speeds.
Glad to hear you had a good ride! Be safe...lots of stupid non-riders out there that don't even see us two-wheel guys out there.

That there is. A lot more relaxed riding here then it was in AZ....to some Spokane may be a city but after living in in the outskirts of Phoenix it is more like a big town. Biggest hazard out by us is deer....already a few laying on the side of the road....

No ride today....went out to pull it out of the garage. Put the kickstand up and the spring fell off of it...it is what it grinds first on the left side. Yesterday while going thru the s curves right down the road it hit the ground on every one of them.....apparently it had enough....

The last time I went to the dealer in Joplin, Mo. the parts guy looked down his nose at me because the bike I had at that time was an 87. He then told me that most of the parts were obsolete. To top it all off he refused to believe that the frame on my FXRC came from the factory powder coated blue. All they want to do is sell new bikes.

This is true....my bike is not a Harley, it is a Custom Chrome Kit bike. I stopped at the dealer one day when I looking for gloves. Talked to a female sales member that was a real joy to talk to. Next guy I spoke with basically told me that my bike was a pile and I needed a new bike. He took offense when I told him I was not a cookie cutter kind of guy....go into a Harley dealer, drop close to 20k on a bike only to see yourself riding down the road every few minutes. He started with how that is why you "accessorize" the bike...my comment was so I spend close to/over 20k and then need to pump another 5k into it to make it "mine"....He suggested I bring my bike in to have them service it....showed him my greasy oil stained hands and told him no thanks...that my "worthless" bike was an old karbanated bike that was so simple to work on it even a Harley salesman could do it....

I also told him that he owed me a tremendous thanks....because if it was not for folks like me paying that tariff back in the day on my over 700 cc Jap bike Harley would not even be in business today....

Will be a cold day in hell before I ever go back to them for anything. Will be right down the road from a small bike repair shop tomorrow. Going to go visit Jim and take whatever he has for a spring....will probably not be a "factory" one so I will just grab a few of them....just in case lol....
