That method of sealing tire beads has been used for a "very" long time. We used starting fluid which is basically canned ether.
 
Ah.... ya' gotta' love the smell of burning rubber on a Sunday morning!

with a 2" pipe coupler joined to the tank and 2" ball valve with a flat nozzle looking attachment on the valve will allow you to keep your eyebrows. Clip on air hose for the wheel required. Hook hose to valve stem, aim the nozzle at the gap between wheel and tire, open valve all at once POP goes the tire.

A knuckle boom crane with a GIANT craw and half a bucket of Flax soap (in a grease like consistency) was the norm for the Cat equipment we had. When the tire finely seated that nasty flax soap flew 50' in all directions :rofl:
