Heres my first attempt at the exhaust side, any thing I can or should do different? The intake side has already been cnc gasket matched so for the most part I just need to clean those up.

try not to remove from the bump just before the valve on the short side turn. If there are any sharp angles around where the seat transitions into the bowl, you'll want to round them over. Also, You want to polish the exhaust ports and the combustion chambers but leave a rough texture in the intake port to aid in fuel atomizing.

I don't know how much this holds true for aftermarket heads, but Don Dulmage says in his book to leave the floor totally untouched.

I don't like to do anything with the exh opening. I used to and they looked very impressive - but flowed worse than stock...lol. Small and fast is what you want. The camshaft and exhaust manifolding is more important for effective cylinder emptying than the port is so don't over-think the exhaust port.

X2^^^ I agree, you have to remember that the piston coming up in the bore will force the exhaust gases out. You want velocity in the exhaust port to aid in the scavenging effect. opening it up will diminish the amount of velocity in the exhaust port and will reduce the amount of extra fuel/air charge that can be drawn into the cylinder at the beginning of the intake stroke.

One thing that I can say about Mopar is that the factory heads actually flowed very well for stock castings, especially the exhaust ports. Cleaning up the intake ports and matching flow to your applications needs makes stock heads efficient enough for any street driven small block that is NA and stock stroke.
