the 69 Cuda 440 was traction limited. lol
With a slick and fenderwell headers, mid 12 sec car.
Could very well been the fastest Mopar factory car. or pretty dang close

Back then I raced a pontiwreck! I could never get a four pipe header to seal so I ended up making my own three pipe headers. I would be working on it and buddies would explain it was the fastest V6 they had ever been in! LMAO, life was simpler then. I had a mustang hood scoop sheet metal screwed on where I had sawzalled the hole in the hood. Car sat totally lopsided to account for launching torque via the air shocks. I had no idea what I was doing! Still racing all these years later. 66 GTO is still one of my all time favorite for lines, pure sexy! And who doesn’t like a dual gate shifter!Make no mistakes goats for some of the best looking hot rods on the street in the day. But they wouldn't handle a 34 0 duster or dart 4-speed combination it was always a close race but I raced 68,400s, 69,400, 65 tri-powers, and 66s never lost to a GTO
440 w\tri-power.Just adds credence to what I've always said. Pontiacs were usually heavy and slow. The 70 GTO is my favorite body style all the way across the board, though. Maybe with a hot 440......
440 w\tri-power.
Very nice, thank you.
Got this 65 GTO back on the road for the owner recently.
He bought it new in 1965.

Beautiful!
They're superchargered. Give that fish's 440 15+ lbs of boost? You better tie that unibody frame. 1000HP would twist it in half. Lol. All things being equal? There is no replacement for displacement. With the Hellcat/Demons coming in at 4000+ lbs? The race is over before it really began. (Assuming you could get that Fish to hook? Lol.)Only if you ignore the new crop of "Mopar factory" cars.
Man that is stunning, that is a lot of work right there. Them cars got more sq ft of material Than my fridge! Great color.
