Hi,
I´ve been trying to get the power steering pump from my 1968 Dart to fit to my 1971 340, and I´m having a bit of trouble..
I have what appears to be an TRW pump, and from what I have found it doesnt seem that there has ben made any brackets for the TRW pumps for the later LA engines.
So, I purchased a bracket set for a Saginaw pump from Mancini Racing, hoping I could modify it to fit my engine. It worked pretty alright, but it doesnt seem to align as it should.
They also had a TRW bracket kit, but it was for earlier cast iron aluminium water pump engines, so the Saginaw kit looked like I could modify it easier.

Does anyone have any tips about mounting a TRW pump to this engine?

Just from looking at the pix:
1. You may have rotate the lower bracket so that the long bolt is perfectly level and perfectly parallel with the crankshaft
2. You may have to push some washers or shims behind the bolts for the top plate to make sure it is perfectly parallel with the front of the engine.
3. I would rotate the pump counterclockwise so that the cap is level. This will make the pump and bracket more stable horizontally so that pulley will stay better aligned.
4. You are going to have to make some spacers to fill the 'open spaces' between all brackets so that the long bolt can clamp down hard without bending the brackets.

all the pulleys and brackets change from 69 to 70 . i believe its do to the water pump change at that period . your pump and brackets are iron water pump , and you car is the alum pump .
