I just purchased the FR1506P coupler for my power steering column/box and I'm confused on the directions. It says to cut off 1.5" and then slide the coupling on another 2".

Obviously, I don't have 3.5" to work with. The directions that came with the coupler are labeled FR1506M so I assume that's for manual, but I can't find any additional directions for the power part. At this point, I don't know if I need to cut and if so, where?

if you have power steering your steering shaft is shorter. you probably dont need to cut anything.

Don't think you will have to cut but I did. As long as the shaft doesn't interfere with the joint it should be good.

I didn't end up cutting mine, but as you can see with this picture, I didn't end up with nearly as much space as you did.

The coupler is as far back on the column as it would go and all the splines are engaged on the box.
