I have a 1976 Dart Sport and I was wondering if anybody has ever put a flip top gas cap on an A body?

Hi. My brother just did that to his Duster. He used the piece of the quarter panel from a Barracuda and welded it to his Duster. It came out really nice and looks good. The wife has pictures on her phone but is not here right now so I'll try to get them up tomorrow night. Bobby

Sorry for the delay, here are some pictures of my brother's duster showing how we added the flip top gas cap.

I noticed what looked like AMC door handles, and a sunken in rear antenna on the RH side too. Nice metalwork.

Good eye moparmat2000 they are indeed AMC handles. My brother bought the car in 1978 and made those changes in the eighties. He didn't want to undo those changes and since I had a spare used quarter panel he decided to add the piece for the gas cap. The car is an original yellow 340-3spd std on the floor. When he bought it it was already changed to automatic with the black paint. Bobby

a member here sells an adaptor to do such. I have on 72 duster, 65 dart, etc....works well for me.... do a search......

What you guy's actually have is a flip SIDE gas cap, this is a flip Top gas cap. . :blob:
when installing new quarters, decided that was the best time to do it.
