have a 68' 4 speed tranny...what kinda fluid to i need to buy to replace my drained fluid with?

The factory recommend fluid is ATF but the owners manual also says in the hotter climates you can use a 90w gear oil. If you go the gear oil route use a synthetic they flow better and don't use a multi-viscosity oil like 80w/140w it is to thick. I have always used ATF with no ill effects at all and I find that they shift much smoother.
