I ended up getting the Weld-Pak 3200 from home depot:

for under $500 you end up with a decent set up, regulators included

I was gonna add that TSC has a farmhand 125 for $289 it comes with a regulator and a helmet, then you can get a 10 lb bottle purchased and filled for $140. You'll amaze yourself at the difference no spatter hit it with a wire brush and it's nice. remember no stitches ... only tacks at least 6" apart take your time. the thicker the wire the more heat required to melt it so get the thinnest you can
