Input needed on what weight flywheel to use and Balancer selection.
408 with W2s
9.7 compression
248/250 @ .050. .648 lift 108 LSA
Victor W2
3.09 1st and 3.91 rears
26" ish tires
3300#ish weight 69 Swinger
Mostly street with 2-3 trips to strip per year

I am thinking of using Mcleaods 20# Sfi
Flywheel. My thinking is that it is heavy enough for street use yet light to enough quicken the revs on the strip and minimize tires blowoff on launch.

Undecided as to which balancer to run.
Maybe the Pioneer SFI? Lots of opinions on balancers......

Thx

I wont... I ran 3.09 with my 73 340 dart sport
With w2s and a bigger cam. I used 4.10s in that and it was fine. In fact I am using the 3.09 gear to get into the rpms while slow going in parking lots etc.... This car should go way faster than it techs for. So the launch at the strip is not my major concern.

You need an aluminum wheel. You don't need all, that flywheel weight beating the hell out of the tire.

You have a 12.08:1 first gear. I have a 14.09 first gear.

You just don't need all that weight slinging around.

Yellow rose I would agree for the strip but was thinking the 20 lb would make it a bit more docile on the street.

Well I was forced into a quick decision by the 20% off sale on eBay yesterday.
Pioneer SFI balancer and Mcleod 20 lb steel sfi flywheel.... We will see how it works.

Now for clutch selection.... Sooo many varying opinions... I like what I see about the Mcleod RST so far. Wish I would have ordered 1 with the 20% off sale but I couldnt find one on ebay that night. Either I didnt look hard enough or they pulled them from the site for the day...
