Ok Someone explain to me the difference that I would feel if I go with a alum. flywheel instead of a steel??? Car is a 70 Duster with a 5.7 hemi in it and no the motor is not stock, What are the idiosyncrasy of these two flywheels--Steve:happy1:

aluminum =faster reving.
the weight of the steel flywheel keeps up the inertia/spinning of the engine between gears....so learn to shift faster.

I think they typically say that a steel flywheel is better for street duty and hard launches since it keeps the spinning motion of the engine going better when you dump the clutch. They say an aluminum one is a little harder to deal with around town as well because you have to work a little harder to keep the rpm up when slipping the clutch, but it's pretty much just driver training and getting used to whatever you're driving. I went with a steel flywheel on my 5.7 and it still revs up awfully fast. Aluminum would be easier to install if you're laying under the car though, lol.
