I found a set of 3:55-1 Richmond gears for sale, the thing is the guy is not sure for what case. I have a 489 case. The numbers on the ring are 2070898 3:55-1 MS 22. Looked everywhere that I can think of, and not finding much info, he said he bought them 20 years ago from a guy. And never ran them. Maybe I'll call Richmond monday

Bettin Cass at Dr. Diff can help you out with that.

Also, have the seller measure the diameter of the pinion shaft, and do a search on pinion shaft diameters. I'm pretty sure 741, 742 & 489 were all different diameters.

That's a factor Mopar part number for 3.55 gears from what I'm aware. I'm not sure what case they fit though.

as stated in the last post --- not Richmond --- definitely a factory ring and pinion part number --- 741 case has a straight 1-3/8" diameter pinion shaft --- 742 case straight 1-3/4" shaft --- 489 case 1-7/8" tapered shaft --- the part number I believe is very early 1960's so probably for a 741/657 case.

Thanks for the replies, I emailed the guy asking questions, no response, ad is gone now. Looks like I'll just buy new or put out an ad here.
