That's about twice the grunt of a VW diesel I had. 50+ mpg, but acceleration was measured with an hourglass. It couldn't spin a tire in six inches of snow.

that engine with an A833OD might not be too bad.....my 76, stock 225 1bbl (rated at 101 net HP and 170 net torque), A833OD and 3.23's does fine with everyday traffic and freeway speeds all while getting 25+mpg
