At NAPA Auto Parts Door Jamb switch found I have been having the same problem and at the advice of some of the people here just talked to my local NAPA dealer and he found two different part#s for what appears to be the same switch and he called his tech support to confirm the size of the threads which are 1/2x20 the first part # is DJ6301 and the second which was used on a 1985 chevy van is ECH DJ6149 you can look them up on napas web site I will have them tomorrow hopefully the shaft is not too long.....

I got the door jamb switches from NAPA (for the chevy van) and they do thread into the door jamb I was skeptical at first but it did tighten up nice but as I suspected from the picture online the shaft is too long and the door wont shut all the way the switch does work but I think if I cut the copper tube about 1/8" shorter without damaging the plunger it will be fine.

Man i had this same problem trying to find them for my 70 Duster--Steve

So what did you end up doing?
I cut the copper tube shorter and that exposes the spring a bit and it is still too long.
