Casting 6/29/70. Very early in the run but I think it’s for a 1971 ‘Cuda but wanted to list it here just in case. I don’t think the oil pan has ever been off of it- check out how the numbers are completed when it was stuck low on the block. Pretty cool. The original head gaskets are still in place and the short block turns over effortlessly. As always if it is for your car let me know! I’d love to get this one back home.

Stamped low so the oil pan took part of the hit, cool!

Can you get a clear close up photo of the pad & numbers please?
 
I also noticed a Maltese cross along the driver’s side front cylinder bank. Can’t remember off hand what that designated though.

So I tore the motor down and found that the main bearings are .020 under I believe hence the Maltese cross. The rods are std. Amazingly enough the whole engine had its original date coded parts and pieces. Pretty cool.

Dang! This one is the closest yet to my car which has an assembly date of August 10, 1970 and a VIN of 1B10XXXX.
