found some great mufflers , made right here in Montreal , just not

Those look like great mufflers. You need 4 by 9 by 16 body, offset center. To get even more sound control, get the 5 by 8 by 16 body length. The longer the better. Great find, love their story too.

they only make 14" or 18" bodies , which would fit best ?

Jerry6,
Looks to me like the larger ones would do great. OEMs were 18" shells so 16 would fit right on.
I am trying to reach them via email to check into other sizes but the email link on their site does not work for me.
I need to call.
They do great work it looks like based on their photos and video.

Rusty,
Please allow me to explain. They do seem high dollar but let me share what it would cost me to build the similar muffler in a small quantity.

Based on what it cost me to build the VOE mufflers, here is what I can estimate. The 304 st. st. sock material is about $12.50 per piece. The center tube is around $20 to $30 each. The ceramic fiber is around a few bucks. The shell is about $15 to $20. Each of the baffles cost me around $10 plus $3 each hole. So parts at my cost (several years ago) to build a long case 2.5" muffler would be around $75 to $90 each. Labor to weld them was $65 per hour. These would take 45 minutes so I estimate it would cost me $135 each to build. Add some profit and you would be up to $190.

So, Rusty, please understand I am not trying to be argumentative. And, I can agree they do seem high until you buy parts and try to put them together. For comparison, look at Borla's prices and see that these Cortek mufflers are pretty close to the same range of prices.

Quality costs money , these mufflers will last the life of the car . I bought a Borla exhaust years ago , the muffler and pipes lasted longer than the car . Car rusted out got 50.00 for it and 190.00 for the exhaust when I scrapped it , had 750,000 km on it . I'll be buying the corteks , they will not blow out or rust out like the cheaper mufflers do .

Oh I understand completely. "I" will just never be buying those mufflers. lol

Well you ain't going to have a RustyRatRod with Stainless steel mufflers , be the BrightanShineyRatRod

That's a fact. All it is going to have is a baffle in the end of each weedburner.
