I'm currently making my own frame connectors for my '71 Duster. Just finished the driver side. My question is, should the car be resting on it's suspension when I weld them in?

i always set mine up on 4 stands on level ground, and use a jack under the front and load it up enough so the doors still open as per normal, works for me

It doesn't have to have the suspension loaded. Most cars will tend to sag in the middle over time so I place the jacks behind the front wheels and in front of the backs so the panel gaps are even.
