Iv'e finally had it with my rusted out manual tailgate. Heres the dealio on my dilemma. Original tailgate from my car has rusted thru on the bottom edges of the main body. Torsion bar helper is now a two piece rusted non helper. Skin of this tailgate has minor rust thru but overall is straight, and it's all below the body line at that. Tailgate from the parts car is a power window, main body is not all rotted out and the helper bar is still helping. The skin of it is mashed in over 50% of the body line. Previously repaired way back before 73. I'm thinking of taking the better skin off the original and puting it on the parts one. Or am I better off just replacing just the areas that are dinged etc..? I have never tried anything like this but I'm pretty good with my mig. Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks in advance...
