Had a freeze plug blow out of the passenger side rear block..

Engine is a 70.... 318....

Went to the parts store and they can't tell me what size the freeze plug are?

Are they 1 5/8"?

Anyone have a part number to pick one up at autozone...

i have a brand new brass kit out in the garage i never used. i can measure one in the morning if you dont get any answers tonight.

So are they 1 5/8 or 1 1/4?

This plug is on passenger side farthest back.

Just had the same one go out on mine like two weeks ago o and don't crank on the rubber plug bolt to much I broke the bolt off the first one lol was worried it would leak

Get ready there is two on the back of block that are more than likely ready to go. They are also 1 5/8. I perfer brass plugs with a little permatex #2 on the edge and drive them in.

ahhh, the big ones are 1 5/8", little one in the front and in the heads 1 1/4" thanks.

ya get ready to at least pull the trans. it's worth pulling the motor to do all of them. makes it easy to clean all the crap out. you'll be amazed how much there is...

good luck
