Fresh 383, never installed since it was built. I bought this to put in my car a couple of years ago and never used it. Has been sitting on the engine stand in the garage covered up. 1970 block with a factory forged steel crankshaft. This was built along the lines of a HP 383, nothing radical. This motor was rated around 330 HP back in the day. Crank has been ground .020/.020, block was bored .030. Keith Black Hypereutectic flat top pistons with valve relief, part number KB162. Better piston than the originals....Compression ratio could be anywhere from 8.5 to 10.0 depending on your cylinder head. New camshaft (.460 lift), lifters, all new bearings, new oil pump, new timing chain and gear. If you have a crusty old 383 that needs to be rebuilt to duplicate this engine the current parts cost would be at least $800, machine shop costs would be from $600 to a $1,000 depending on what shop you use.
