Sometimes I'm surprised by what a gear head can put together with whatever is lying around. Really this stuff seems to happen when we are standing around trying to figure out the best way to do something. I wanted to share a couple of things I put together with junk lying around my shop, with hopes that you guys would show off some of your intuitive maybe-only need it once do-dads that you slapped together with stuff lying around.
So the first one is the engine stand pictured, I wanted a way hold my engine securely giving me time to do the flywheel and bell-housing run out. I also wanted the tranny on just to look at it for awhile on a cool stand.
The next set of pictures is to roll the engine under the car on the K member, I picked the car on the cherry picker, put it on tall jack stands and rolled it under, then picked it back up with the cherry picker and set it down. I was amazed how well this one worked.
