I need to get new tires soon for my 70 Swinger and I will be changing wheels at the same time. I think I will be going with 15"x6" wheels with 4" backspacing on the front and would like to know how tall of a tire do you think I could put on it without running the risk of the tires rubbing? I don't particularly care for 60 series tires on the front. I have been looking at 70s and I'm thinking maybe a 205-70-15 but was wondering whether or not a 215-70-15 would fit. Is anyone here running 205-70-15s or 215-70-15s on the front of your A-body and if so, have they rubbed at all?

Go to this site. You can compare sizes on different wheels, etc. I have 215/60-15s on my Dart and kept playing with the backspacing to get them away from the front lower edge of the fender. Finally had wheels custom made (15X7 with 4.5" BS) and now the problem is solved. I think the tires I have are around 25" in diameter so whatever you use try and sty in that range.
