Hi everyone. I'm working on a set of 308 heads that have never been touched but have some rust issues. One plug is frozen in the head and rusted badly. I've got the plug well filled with PB Blaster and I'll give it a day or so. Is there any way to get the darn thing out?? The socket doesn't fit, too badly corroded. I can't believe how these heads rust!

Get a brass drift and give the plug a few good whacks. That will kinda jar it around and allow the PB to get in better.

My buddy had a socket that would fit any nut or in your case plug, and he got it at a auto parts store, Aerokroil will break the rust, I use it a lot at
Home and where I used to work. Before we started a job in mills and refineries we sometimes sent in guys to spray the rusty nuts and bolts so we could get them apart

break the plug off use a easy out and heat it first it will come out like butter

I did get the plug out, knocked out the porcelin and used a drill to open it up and then spun out the remainder. Thanks all!
