Yesterday I wrote about a fuel leak I had, I wonder if I should put my new filter before the fuel pump or not. I have a plastic filter which I amgoing to replace with a metal one and use hose clamps rather than spring clamps.

The filter goes between the fuel pump and the carburetor, not between the fuel tank and the fuel pump. If you are smart, use fuel injection hose (stamped "SAE 30R9") rather than the old-type regular hose ("30R7") and compatible fuel-injection hose clamps. The EFI hose has much higher temperature, pressure, and alcohol resistance, and is therefore safer with today's fuels.
