I do not want to force anything on this line. So I'll post.

My assumption was that I can/could replace this fuel line reducer by removing the 'setscrew'... but now I'm not 100% sure that is it's purpose and figured I had better just ask.

Do I need to take this complete line out or will this turn off?

Also removing that screw there was teflon-like tape used. There must be something better than tape on a fuel line isn't there?

that is not a set screw , it's a 1/8pipe plug , that is where a fuel pressure gauge would screw into.

okay, makes sense.

I'm assuming this complete line have to come off to get a smaller reducer on?

Looks like you have a 3/8" Edelbrock banjo fitting, and you want to go to 5/16" fuel line.

Looks like you have a small block ?

I would shake the Edelbrock 3/8" banjo fitting, and get the correct 318,340,360 fuel line.
5/16" pump to carb fuel line. Inexpensive, and easy to get.

What i think you are calling a "reducer" is actual a carburator fuel line

I wondered if I could reduce it further. To actually match the fuel line and filter. It seems jimmy rigged.
Someone had a solution below.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish?

Reduce this fitting/reducer/Carb fuel line to 5/16". Picture with box

Thanks. Yes, 340. I'll order this piece to the carb!

A 5/16 hose will go on that fitting. It's tight but it'll go.

That is what was currently there... and there was a leak. Felt that maybe the filter was cracked since the fuel would instantly drain back.
