1969 dart 360 I have had two electric fuel pumps and they dont last. So I went back to the carter high flow mechanical. I have the line from the tank running into the wheel well to the pump.
Anybody else have the same problem? best ways to fix

I was having this problem when the line was runnning along the headers. We ended running it inside the frame rails problems solved. You will need to drill out a couple spots along the way but it is a clean way of hiding the fuel line. You can exit the frame rail right where your fuel pump is and then make the connections.

You can allso put some heat wrap on your fule lines where ever they come to close to anything. Even after the pump. I see a lot of people lay there heater lines on top of there fule line.

I've had electric's too and I hate the things.......they're totally undependable and stinking noisy..........

I've also had problems with vapor locking..........If you have a fuel line close to a radiator hose, wrap it with insulation around the area or put it inside another split fuel line (larger one) for an insulator...............Be sure you have the carb insulated from the intake with a composite (not metal) spacer at least a half inch thick...........as far as the wheel well, the only problem I could see is if you had some really hot headers running close to the line............

My vapor lock problems were solved by insulating my line and spacing the carb. It's s different car now. 8)8)8)

I use 5/8 or 3/4 heater hose to shield the fuel lines, especially from the pump to the carb. Works for me.

"You're kidding.....right?"
