Ok so I have been needing a full size truck for a while.
Finally found one I really liked.
But, as things always go for me, I buy a fuel sucking pig when fuel is on the rise........at least its not a daily driver !!
Yep .....its a V10.

and no.......I didnt want a diesel.

its not often one can say " Yeah my hot rod get better mileage than my truck. "

Nice truck !!!
And it has 10 spark plugs too :blob:
Congratulations RPM that is a real truck :headbang:

A friend of mine bought one of those when they first came out for his business. I remember him saying that the estimated mpg that it had on the sticker wasn't even in the ball park, fuel sucking pig is right. But having said that, I wouldn't mind droppin it into my Duster, yeah baby!!! :blob:
Actually, the Viper has the truck engine. The engine was designed for the trucks, then reworked for the Viper.
Interesting.....did not know that! :happy4:

Yea, my dad's got a V10 3/4 ton and it's a fuel sucking pig also. You maybe able to fix it's appetite by rechipping it but good luck, at least it's got lots of torque for pulling.

Deffinetly a very nice looking truck. Like Demon Seed said reprogramming it might help the fuel mileage but then again you may loose all your gains by having to run premium fuel. I have an 02 Dakota with the 4.7 eng. and it wasn't really great on gas stock. I reprogrammed it with a Superchips tuner and it not only runs quite a bit better but gets about 2-3 mpg. better. Plus I lucked out and it don't spark knock on 89 octane and usually the mid grade is only 2-3 cents more so I'm ahead on the gas mileage thing. After the reprogramming it now gets about 17 in town and 21 on the hwy.

Dont fell bad, i have a 03 2500 2wd hemi auto reg cab that gets 9 miles per gal in town. Its still under factory warrenty but the dealer wont do anything for me.They said , there is nothing wrong with it. My 416 duster gets better fuel milage.

working at a dealer.... i know the fuel mileage thing on the HEMI trucks.
I also have a 03 Dakota quad can 4X4 and its average in town is only 13.....gotta keep my foot out of the throttle !!

Very nice truck, indeed. Say, can I borrow it tomorrow? Just jokin'. My '77 F250 highboy 4X4 with four fifty six gears and a 400 gets better economy than that. Course none of you want to hear about that.

nice truck,,,,,looks like mine,,,,except a cummins,,,

the truck v10 is iron,,, the viper is aluminum,,,

the 06 hemi trucks finally have cylinder deactivation,im hearing 14 mph around town,,

my hemi street rod gets that,,,,
my b cuda get 4 mph

thats a cool looking truck, i've been looking for a full size since i heard that the dakotas get about the same gas milage. i also have heard that the import trucks arn't doing much better.

i think that i'm leaning more to the cummins more and more, though the V10 would be cool to have. i think that the Ram RT10 has the aluminum V10 of the viper, but could be wrong.

that is a cool truck and looks to be in great condition as well.

I recently bought a '96 ramcharger, 3/4 ton 4 wheel drive, for work. It has the 5.9L Magnum in it and seems to get really good milage...........it does have a 5spd. which helps.

Sorry to hear about the milage on the v10.

yes the viper r/t 10 truck has the aluminum engine,, the regular pick up...and duly use a iron v10

Very nice looking!

As a diesel mechanic, in my 01 3/4 ton I opted for the cummins, 6-speed H/Output, averages between 17 and 19 mpg. Has been as low as 15 towing a bit of weight pulling hills @ 8,000' and 60 mph. It just keeps on pulling!

i keep hearing all these cumins guys saying they pass every gas station,,

my 2002, 4x4 cummins,, auto,,355 rears,, standard cab,,long bed,,i drive it like it has to lasst for ever,,,, i hardly get over 14 mph,,local,,19 on the high way,,,,,WTF,,,

I have an 03 Ram 2500 2wd Quad cab long bed with the Cum*ins turbo diesel 305 HP version and 4.10 rear gear. I love it ! I'm getting 18.2 MPG average combo driving and about 10-11 MPG towing my 5000lb boat/trailer. With 30 gal in the tank I can go 500 miles without thinking of a gas station! :toothy7:

ive heard plenty of cummins owners getting better milage have 2wd...

i knew i didnt need the other 2 driving,, lol
