Fuel sucking pig. My new truck !!

-
My '96 Club Cab 4x4 V10 got 14.5 mpg on the freeway at 75-80. The problem wth the mileage is not the truck or motor it is the person pushing the pedal. When I first got my V10 it had horrible mileage but got better as I had it longer. Did you ever notice how much worse your mileage got after putting new dual exhaust on your car?

trust me,, not pushing the pedal much,,i let the truck build speed it self, takes me a while to get up to speeed,,, ask the young kids at work that get stuck behind me,,lolllol....the 24 valve cummins get worse mileage then the 12 valve,, because they are higher horse power,, the older cummins get GREAT mileage,,then a 4x4 makes a difference also,,i can only imagine what the newer common rail cummins get for mileage,,more power,, and they inject the fuel in 2 different places at 2 different times,,,to make it quieter,,,,

ford tried to quite theres down by shoveing ons of fuel in at one time,, then had to recall,,didnt meet emmissions,,,lol

I had a 2004 325hp (underated) version as a company truck and that thing on the freeway only got 15mpg and got 12mpg city. That sucked for a diesel engine but it made up for it in power. I got stuck behind a semi in the right lane going 25 up a mountain pass towing a Hyster forklift. Total weight of forklift and trailer was 15,000 lbs. When the left lane was clear I pulled out and was able to accelerate up to the speed limit (60) without any problems.
