So, has anyone determined what kind and size of wire the factory used to make the "wrap" on the factory sending units? it was the ONLY thing in my tank to not be corroded.... even the PCB board material had black tarry crap all over it.....

It is a resistance wire, nichrome?
Or the like. It also does not take solder.
If you still have your OEM sender you will be better off having it rebuilt then using an aftermarket.
