HI guys on my 72 a body i have installed a new fuel tank and i was wondering wt to do with the vent pipe over there, shown in picture?

I just close it with a screw? Is that right so an if i need a return line from my carburetor i can install i there?

Thx Peter

I would think that's an excellent opportunity to install a vapor return line. I had to braze one into my 67 tank!!

Not sure about 72's but on 67 to 69's there is a small metal line that runs form the tank thru the floor grommet and along the filler neck for a vent.

Hi i have the same, i should go sure if i can put my return line from the carburetor there, or i have to put it with the line in my trunk together?

I would not. You might create a situation where you are pumping fuel overboard. All that vent does on the older ones is connect near the filler cap on the inside of the trunk, make an upside down "U" up to the highest it can go inside the trunk, then down along the filler tube, through the trunk seal, and ends INSIDE the rear frame rail. I did consider brazing a line LOWER into the filler tube, but it would visually impact the "originality" of the car. Therefore I chose to install in the tank where it's a little less obvious.
