I finally started making progress on the full cage for the dart and have a few questions for you folks with full cage set ups.

What is the distance from main hoop to front hoop support? (The down leg by the door hinges)

Did you remove your dash and slide the front down legs as far forward as you can then cut the dash to fit around the cage?

Where (up and down) did you locate the dash bar?

Diagonal brace in the roof hoop or no?

Thanks for the time and advice.

Not sure why there's the 3 attachments?

If anyone has pics of there cage I would love to see them. Mostly I want to see the A pillar bars in relation to the top hoop and dash bar.
The car is already hard enough to get in and out, I would like as much room between the main hoop and A pillar bar as I can get.

Id put the diagonal brace in the top hoop. That helps keep the top of the A pillar from caving into the driver.

Awesome progress. Here's how Louis aka mad dart did them on my dart when he owned it.

Yes, that's what he did then made some cover plates to cover the dash opening. The dash bar is right behind the dash itself up high

X brace in and one main hoop lower diagnal in..

I can see why most folks don't build cages.. lots of climbing in and out, not to mention climbing through the cage and forgetting to turn on the welder... or trying to see the top of a weld then burning my head on a hot bar, twiching and burning the back of my neck...

Good times.....
