Did a little mod on my gas cap that just saved my bacon. By now you know how hard it is to find a replacement gas cap. A while back I decided to do something that may save a fruitless search. Took the bar off my gas cap and drilled 4, 3/8" holes in the back side of the bar. Epoxied rare earth magnets in the holes and put it back together. The wife just called frantically trying to explain that she had lost the gas cap because she forgot to put it back on after refueling. I told her not to worry and go on to work since she was running late. When she got to work she called and announced that she had found the gas cap still stuck to the trunk lid. Guess the magnets did their job. Hope this helps someone else out of a jam.
