Gas pedal fell off!! Help!! Pls :)

I removed the carpet, and the pedal, when lifting the pedal out of the holes, it came off the part that goes to the carb. Now, i installed the carpet, put the pedal in the holes...and cant figure out how to make it go back on the accelerator control thingy...I dont think anything fell off, didnt find any extra parts, and it ran fine with the crappy carpet..here are a couple of pics with the bar just sitting on the other part..please help..this is the last thin before i can drive this darn thing again!!

it just pushes back on to the lever on that lil ball the clip holds it in place

I don't like that cable under the pedal mechanism. Can potentially cause the gas pedal to stick wide open. You should try to reroute it above and out of the way of the pedal if possible.
