Some advice please. I purchased a new gas tank for my 64 Barracuda. One made in Canada, all shiny and clean. Before I strap it in, I was considering painting or undercoating it to make it last longer and avoid the old rusted underside appearance that time will thrust upon it. Any advice? Thanks.

I bought one also, scuffed it up with 180 grit then ospho'd it and wiped it dry then let it air dry for a day then shot a coat of rust stop enamel from krylon on it then clearcoated it.that should do the trick! didn't have a new float on hand at the time so I soldered a holley side hung float to it and viola' It works like a charm

There is a gastank zinc paint available from Eastwood that does an excellent job and looks stock. Ditto on the prep before you paint anything, I'm sure yours is as oily as mine was when I opened the box. Good luck on the install, Geof
