To repair my gas tank i'd need to do some welding. What should i use to clean it out? Get rid of gas residuals and fumes. Anyone have any experience with this.

Try a gallon of water with a couple of good squirts of Dawn dish washing soap after hosing the tank out good with water. Shake the tank with the water/soap mixture until it is almost foam, then dump it out, rinse and repeat as necessary. Once the tank smells like Dawn, blow it out with an air hose and let sit overnight before welding. Works for me.

While you are sloshing the suds around, drop in a good length of dog chain to knock off any loose scale or rust.
